Lago Iseo

Lago Iseo

Today we drove the last part to lago Iseo. The trip was heavy, before the Gotthard tunnel it was a long climb which I needed to do in third gear. After the long climb we had a long dark and warm tunnel, the Gotthard. In the tunnel it is 30 to 40 degrees, due to earth warmth. I thought because of the exhaust gasses but that is not the case. Anyway, i do not like the heat.

After the tunnel I could recover, fresh air over the engine and downhill again. After I was recovered we stopped for fuel. The good news was that I could have my shot lead substitute with some high octane gasoline. I was ready for the remaining 200km.

After some 50km we entered Italy, I can tell you: I love this country already. The driving style I totally like, the speed does not matter, as long as you move. Also the Telepass is great, leaving all behind.

We rode with another VW T3 called Olive from the UK. We drove about 30km together, then we took the exit to the lake. After some tunnels we reached the exit and arrived at the camp site in minutes.

I will take a rest for e few days and enjoy my view on the lake.
