Other route as planned
This morning started with a disappointment, the Gotthard tunnel was closed. So this meant that we had to take the Gotthard pass, or in this case the passo della Spluga. Again direction Madesimo and then some more height. I had to work hard and I planned for easy highway trip.
Leaving the camping was great, so many people waved us goodbye and wished us a save travel.
This time I needed to up the mountain with all the camping gear. Fully loaded and good spirit we went up to 2115 meter. And of course went down on the other side. Many motorcycles past us, but is was very quiet on the road. We had many many hairpins, so a lot of shifting, steering, braking and so on. It was great fun!
After the pass it was all quite nice highway, except the navigation system decided to go off highway for some time. There was a part with many traffic lights, I had trouble breathing. After on the highway it got worse, time for a break.
After the break I felt better, we reduced the speed though. It was just too warm and the heat gave me trouble. The morning on the pass it was still fresh, so not trouble then.
The TomTom navigation system had trouble finding the hotel. Also Flitsmeister did not give clear indications, at the end Google maps came to the rescue, it was a pedestrian zone.
So far this Maritim hotel is a little disappointing, looks like faded glory. The location is nice, again we can rest at lake side!
