What to take…
Big question is what to take for this tour. What problems are to be expected on route. I am not the youngest anymore and I already need slower pace, and maybe some adjustments with altitude or temperature. For that I bought myself a nice toolbox to have enough tools that fits nicely behind the rear couch.
Additional I take some special tools that are specially for me and some basic spare parts and of course enough tie-rips, duct-tape and a wide range of bolts and nuts. In case of emergency a towing cable and starter cables, the last ones probably to help others.
I should not forget to take some oil. I do not consume a lot of oil but over such distance I like to drink a little mixed with the gasoline. I hope the gasoline has a good taste in the other countries, I any way always bring my own bottle to add a shot to it. The lead is removed from the gasolines, but that is too bitter for me, so I add something to it to make it more sweet.
I am in healthy condition and I do not expect any trouble going forth and back to Italy, about 2.500 kilometer. But to solve the small things we have some tools and parts. If something big goes wrong I will have my road side assistance card…
