Introduction

Hello, this is me… No not the guy in front, that’s Timmy. Behind him… The yellow Beetle, that’s me! I am called Low ‘N Slow, for my lifestyle and after my main characteristics; low for my stance and slow for my speed. I started a blog in 2023 to share my adventures in the real world. Since end of 2023 I have a younger sister named Charlie, she is a VW campervan, we share this blog. Although we only go out in nice weather conditions, there is enough to share. Enjoy the reading.

How I Started

It was a strong wish for me to drive further trips, to enjoy more beautiful sceneries. After a series of events I showed Timmy that I was capable of doing more. Especially driving up the ‘Knobbel’ smoothly after receiving the yearly tune-up and a new fuel pump, I think he was a little impressed…

Adding our ages of the owner and me, we celebrate 100 years this year. Another good reason for a memorable trip of backroad driving to the south of Europe.

In this blog I keep you updated on our adventure and hopefully the many adventures that follow.

Shaffhausen

After packing we started to drive to Switzerland. The route started in sunny Italy, but when we were close to the Swiss border it started to rain, and it did not stop until Schaffhausen. Such a contrast with the sunny weather of yesterday. The traffic at the Gotthard tunnel was a nightmare, one hour of delay on this rainy day. […]

Friends from home

Today friends arrived from back home, the owners of the guest 2 wheeled girl that stays at our home. Our spot has enough place for them and we also brought a tent. There were new guests at the spot next to us but they changed for another spot. So we had quite a big spot all the way to the […]

Lakeside view

I enjoy my rest at the lakeside. I am on the second row to the lake so I have a magnificent view. I can see a small island with a castle and a bigger island. People can also spot me from the lake, but then I am also the only green camper on the site. Yesterday there was a storm, […]

Lago Iseo

Today we drove the last part to lago Iseo. The trip was heavy, before the Gotthard tunnel it was a long climb which I needed to do in third gear. After the long climb we had a long dark and warm tunnel, the Gotthard. In the tunnel it is 30 to 40 degrees, due to earth warmth. I thought because […]

Vierwaldstättersee

Today we had a trip from Bensheim to Beckenried, Switzerland. Beckenried is at the Vierwaldstättersee, a beautiful lake in Switzerland. My brother was here last year, so I have heard about it, but it is even more beautiful to see by myself. I normally like to have a small shot in my drink, the lead replacement. I drink the unleaded […]

My longest drive

Sunday I drove my longest trip, 520 kilometers. The trip is a start of our road trip to Italy. I am nervous for the trip but at the same time I look so much forward to it. The trip was heading to Bensheim in Germany, which I knew from last July. It was great to drive in my ‘heimat’, but […]

Weser Uplands

Last week I was on a trip with the technical advisor and his girlfriend, aka the owner of my nephew. I do not know how that relates but anyway, it was a trip to Germany, a spot along the river called Weser. It is a nature park about 300km east from home. It was a beautiful scenery and we had […]

Nephew staying over

This week Charlie is on a roadtrip – again, Germany I have heard, or at least it is east from here. But good news is that our nephew from Heerde is staying over on Charlies parking. Our nephew is a ’75 beetle with a very powerful engine with Porsche cooling but probably I have mentioned that already. I am a […]

A beautiful sunset

A beautiful picture taken by Britt. It was taken after a nice evening of waterskiing and wakeboarding. This does not need words.

Last leg of the trip

Today we drove the last leg of our trip, from Brussels back to home. We completed a trip of 1.628km driving in 4 different countries. We received many thumbs up, burned some fuel and lost a little oil. But the smiles per gallon of this trip are priceless. It has been a beautiful experience and some small things came up, […]
