Upgrades, tune-up and ready to camp
Over the last weeks I have been spoiled, not so much driving and receiving all kinds of upgrades. First was new headlights, my original headlights started rusting in the bottom, so not completely watertight. My replacement lights are still old-school H4 lights but the clear glas version with yellow bulb. Despite I am an old girl, I still like to be fashionable. In my time only the French relatives had yellow headlights, now all have white LED’s but in the cartuning world it is fashionable to have yellow lights on the front. In Europe only white or yellow is allowed on frond light, so all within the rules. Low n Slow also received the yellow headlights, so we are both in fashion.

Next to that I also got new outside mirrors, although, lets be honest, they are not for my benefit. Yesterday I received a tune-up, a kind of wellness. New oil, new filters and so on. The new stuff makes me run more smooth, gives indication that the tune-up was due. Also I was a little leaking from the filter area and I got a new nice chrome oilplug, somehow there is no need to share my oil temperature anymore.

Another upgrade I received was a waste-water-tank, the younger Westfalia members were fitted with a waste-water-tank. They are for sale and the mounting kits are also available, so I received a new tank for the waste water. It is a good upgrade, I hope they do not forget to empty it from time to time.

I also received a great gift but I have to wait a little to show it off as the guy from the tires is on holiday. As I am a great EMPI fan, I received the EMPI Gasser wheels, which is a reproduction of the Porsche Gas Burner wheels. The Fuchs wheels everybody has and are not so original in the VW scene. These wheels are less known but Porsche Gas Burner wheels are legendary, light-wheight magnesium wheels that were originally produced between 1970 and 1972 by Mahle. The wheels thank their name gas burner because of the 10 spoke design that resembles the rings on a gas stove. Back in the days it was an option for the 914-6 and the 911. I will share a picure when I got my new shoes on.

Today I was prepped for camp, next week we go already, looking so much forward to it! The watertank was cleaned and filled, also it shown that my new waste-water-tank was not leaking. Refrigerator was working, needed to work hard as the outside temperatures were close to 30 degreed Celsius. My watertank always failed the cap, these are rare items that are small caps with a key. On internet not to find and also on markets it is not seen, but I got something better. A special handmade plug with the Porsche logo. The VW logo is not bad but we have close relation with Porsche, Low N Slow even has a closer relation to Ferdinand Porsche than many of the new Porsche models. But I also have close relation to Porsche families, the engine I have, my heart so to say, is also used in the Porsche models, the 914 and the 912.

Anyway I give you update on the camp weekend next week, for this week I will enjoy the sunshine on the driveway as it is up to Revvy to go to MotoGP tomorrow and then it is a working week for the young convertable.
