Osaka city stroll

Osaka city stroll

Today I took the Shinkansen train from Hamamatsu to Osaka. My flight was only on Sunday so a good reason to explore Osaka today. Last time I was here was more than 15 years ago.

Osaka station is easy to reach, first task was to drop my luggage at the hotel and then go for a stroll, direction was Dotonbori. Osaka is a massive city with different levels you can take at the station, i started to go over the station.

In Japan (Tokyo side) they are generally standing on the left side of the escalator, in Osaka they stay on the right side.

First crossed some rivers that run through the city. Walked through a long covered shopping street in Shinsaibashi.

After the long covered mall I arrived at the river side of Dotonbori. It was more busy than in my memory.

After quickly leaving the very busy Dotonbori area, I escaped the touristic area and went for lunch. After lunch I went back to the station through many of the small streets.

On the way back passed a unique building, that was the City Central Public Hall. A western style renaissance building build in 1911.

After some break it started te be dark. I went to the Umeda Sky Building, to my surprise it was already turned into a Christmas market.

Then after I went to Takimikoji, a recreated ‘20 – ‘30 village rebuild under the ground.

There were no available restaurants so I went to another part for dinner. I passed a VW van at the Umekita park.

I ended Osaka with Wagyu beef, a delicious treat.
