New kid on the block
This afternoon I was enjoying the peace in the workshop, with Charlie on tour. I was looking at my future heart, which is progressing at a very slow rate I must say, but honestly my current heart beats just fine. Always nice to think on how that will be driving, but I guess I have to wait until it is time. Until then I can enjoy the view if this artwork, and that was what I was doing. Until…

Until the afternoon, Charlie came back and we all went outside. Good that I could get some fresh air and gasoline through my veins since some time. Soon it became clear why we had to go outside, we had to share our room with a new kid that will live with us. The new kid came driving to us, it was our niece, the sister of our ’75 nephew (Family roots are complex). She has been good taken care of judging by the state she is in but she needs some spa day and replacement of brake-pads, apparently she is not so fond of braking (something we already have in common). Her rear brake was having trouble melted some material and damaged the brake caliper.

The new kid is a YAMAHA YZF-R6 from the first generation, and from the first generation she is one of the first and still in original condition. She is a track focussed super-sport motorcycle, introduced in 1999 as a smaller sibling of the famous R1. The high revving 600cc engine made the R6 the world’s first 600 cc production four stroke motorcycle producing over 100 hp.

After she had her spa day she will probably tell you more about herself and her adventures.
