Serengeti National Park Day 1

Serengeti National Park Day 1

The day started with a dive in the cold water at the pool of Manyara Best View Lodge before the breakfast. The breakfast here has everything you want.

After the check out we headed to Serengeti. It was mainly a connecting drive with at the end start of the game drive. During the drive we visited the view over the Gnorognoro crater.

A Drive of 10 hours again and the drive took us over the rim of the crater. Unfortunately we could not see much due to the clouds.

At the entrance of the Gnorognoro conservation area we could see an very old Mercedes 1513, a classic one that conquered the unpaved roads through the Serengeti.

On the way we visited a Masaai village but that was a bit touristic for my taste with the dress up. I left it for what it was.

We ended our game drive at Kon Tiki Serengeti tented camp. Again a warm welcome by the staff after a 10 hour Safari. After a drink, selecting our food and some instructions not to leave the tent when dark we headed to our tents.

The tents were very luxury with a toilet, shower, two bedrooms, a large bed and a living room.

After a delicious dinner we were guided to our tents. In front of our tent there were hippo’s, that was unusual to see them there. The guides chased the hippos away with throwing small stones, the hippos went and we could enter our tents.
