Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

From our beautiful lodge in Arusha we went for the Tarangire national park. So first about 140 kilometers in the LandCruiser to the park. We passed villages on the way and we stopped at some touristic area were some sales guys were really pushing to sell something.

In total we had spend 10 hours in the LandCruiser and covered 250 kilometers, but we were treated on amazing views as can be seen in the pictures below.

Very busy at the lions, the guides informing each other on the locations. It is touristic but organized in some way that everybody have their turn to have a good view.

In the park we came across one elephant walking alone, it wanted to cross the road but it could not because of the vehicles that drove along with the elephant. The big guy decided it was enough and prepared to attack our vehicle, our guide quickly turned on the engine to make some noise, the elephant backed out and we drove away and left hom in peace.

After leaving the Tarangire park we headed to Manyara area, a lodge called Manyara best view lodge, but the road to there was the worst road one can imagine. Arrived at the lodge we were treated on a warm welcome by the staff and a beautiful garden and room.

The restaurant had a infinity pool with a really beautiful view over the Manyara valley and lake, but we decided to leave the pool for the next morning.

The dinner was delicious as also in the other lodge, fresh ingredients and a good rose wine to go with it. After 10 hours in the LandCruiser and so many impressions it was early bed time, tomorrow an early swim and the heading to the Serengeti.
